
Planetary Fighters:
This is a game I conceptualized and worked on with a small team. It is an arena fighting game where two players take control of godly beings capable of destroying large spatial objects including whole planets. The players both take advantage of martial combat mechanics as well as throwing massive projectiles at their opponent in order to win.
This project proved very challenging to me in more ways than I realized. The game would fight with my team whenever any sizable changes were made, including the split screen not functioning for the majority of the semester we worked on it.
It was also a good introduction for how difficult it is sometimes to make a concept fun and engaging. While developing it, I had found out that the gameplay loop becomes stale after a short period and would need to start making changes to make it more exciting over a larger period of time. It is currently on hold but is a project I plan on going back to at some point to continue working on.
